La basura del futuro. ¿O es la del pasado?

Las primeras ediciones del Festival Basurama tenían un subtítulo o temática especial, o al menos eso intentábamos con títulos como “eres lo que tiras” o “desecho y supervivencia”. Pues bien, la cuarta edición la titulamos “basura del futuro” y quisimos hablar de la basura digital, el spam, el tiempo dedicado a leer emails, etc.
Al final el tema nos pasó por encima. Quizás era pronto para nosotros, o a lo mejor era pronto para un mundo que en cuatro años ha cambiado tanto: XP era el sistema operativo por excelencia con un Internet explorer que se comía el mercado, google era un buscador, nadie hablaba de la web 2.0 o las redes sociales… creo que era pronto para los dos.
Y me he acordado de todo esto porque Microsiervos comentó ayer un informe del estado de la blogosfera, publicado por Technorati. Entre otros muchos datos, el informe cuenta que de los 133 millones de blogs que tiene contabilizados, sólo 7 millones han publicado algo en los últimos 6 meses, es decir, un 5,5%.
No estoy seguro de cuando se puede declarar un blog oficialmente muerto, pero si consideramos que un 94,5% de ellos lo están, ¿son basura?
- Sí, es información ocupando espacio en un servidor.
- No. ¿Quemarías un libro sólo porque alguien ha acabado de escribirlo?
No sé que pensar aún, pero este informe tiene todo el aspecto de ser la punta de lanza de un debate que irá teniendo cada vez más importancia.
De paso, sirva esta anotación para que no den este blog por muerto.
Actualización: el informe habla también de la gran cantidad de blogs spam… ¿Y si han contado el nuestro como uno? A fin de cuentas debe entrar muchísima gente engañada por el título.

Pues considerarlos muertos o no depende de lo que entiendas por blog. Para mi lo estan, pues un blog es un diario, un registro de por un lado lo que haces y por otro lo que te interesa. Tambien hay muchos hoy en dia que son blogs de noticias, de opinion, de arte, etc…pero siempre suelen ser plataformas de cambio y actualidad. Por lo que si un blog no cambia, se estanca y muere.
Ahora bien, pueden tener su uso como “fotografias” de un momento, de una epoca y de un pensamiento concretos. Pueden traer de vuelta emociones dormidas o recuerdos inesperados. Y una fotografia, aunque esté “muerta”, tiene su utilidad…no?

I’m glad I found a Blog that deals with the same thing I’m dealing with. I always read the whole post and keep an eye on other comments too before commenting myself. In this way i have found some good homepage that I now follow beyond the purpose of getting links from them. For example, this is my sixth coming by your site. I always like the content and the way you write .

Nearly all of what you assert happens to be astonishingly appropriate and that makes me wonder why I hadn’t looked at this with this light previously. This particular article truly did switch the light on for me as far as this topic goes. However at this time there is actually just one position I am not necessarily too cozy with so while I make an effort to reconcile that with the central theme of your issue, permit me observe just what all the rest of your visitors have to point out.Nicely done.
